Stuart Gauld (born 26 March 1964 in Edinburgh, Scotland) is a former Scottish footballer who played as both a full back and a center back. During his career, Gauld played for Salvesen Boys Club, Hearts, Derry City FC, St. Patrick's Athletic, Glenavon FC, Finn Harps FC, then to his final stretch at Derry City FC, before completing his career at Omagh Town FC. In a 1988/89 League of Ireland Cup quarter final game at Athlone Town Gauld replaced the injured Tim Dalton in a penalty shoot out and saved Stephen Yeates’ penalty before scoring the winning penalty. He made his League of Ireland debut at Monaghan for Derry on 1 December 1985. His first goal came on the 15th of December 1987 at Finn Park. His 100th competitive appearance came in a 1-0 loss to Shamrock Rovers on the 2nd of April 1989.
